Just took the attatchments that fix to the ceiling off by pulling them through the base and re-wiring them, bought a cheap towel rack and spray painted it gold, got some edison led bulbs and fell in love! The whole project was less that $100 dlls, cant beat that!

This light was as expected... I just wished that I had more room to be able to keep the length as it was. I ended up having to get it modified (shortened the wires) so that it wouldn't hit people as they walked through my basement. It really became one of the focal points in our basement.

- I thought the remote was stupid and actually removed it from the unit and wired directly. I prefer a wall dimmer and the remote is just another piece of junk to be lost a year from now. I suggest the manufacturer remove all together and reduce the price.
- The internal wire is not very heavy. For carrying that much current, I would think something heavier would be in order
- As mentioned by someone else, the wires themselves in the plastic are not heavy enough to hang nicely. They should be ideally more of a metal sheath or chain. The lamp looks nice but the wires don't hang uniformly and you can see kinks from being wrapped up in box. I will probably use a heat gun to soften them and get them to hang better.
So on hanging it, people complained a lot about it being hard to put up so I pondered how. I wanted the light to hang uniformly so each lamp to be 36 degrees off the other to form uniform spacing. I hung the main lamp and let the webs just hang down. I picked up 2 pieces of poster board from an office store and taped them together to make a large surface area. I then created a template of a circle divided into 10 pieces from searching google for an image. You can make in excel too if you want. I downloaded the image, blew it up to fit a 8x10 sheet with max coverage and printed it out. This gives you a circle about 7" in diameter
I then cut the image out, taped it to the center of the poster board and used a yard stick to extend it to the edge of the board. After that I cut out the middle of the poster board along the line of the original little 7" circle. I then fed the web arms through the hole and used tape to stick it to the ceiling. From there I used the yard stick to mark spots for mounting the light hangers at equal distance from the edge of the lamp.
After that, I used 2 sided tape to stick each web wire to check placement. Looked perfect so I screwed everything in. All in all, install took a couple of hours and using the above method, no "oh crap" moments.
