This is an attractive sconce that is all that the picture would indicate it would be. It looks substantial, and can handle a larger, decorative Edison bulb. Recommended.

Well made attractive lamp. Easy to install. Good illumination. Reasonable price. First lamp was installed in an outside location with exposure to strong rain and winds. After 3 months no problems. Liked it so well I purchased a second one.

My teenage daughter's bedroom has this very short hallway, more of an alcove, leading up to her bedroom door with a lighting fixture hanging from the ceiling. Her door swings inward into her bedroom so I felt their was no reason to keep the ugly, ceiling-flush light fixture that the builders put in there. You can see the alcove from the main open-concept area of the home so having that flat, ugly fixture had been driving me nuts, but because my teenage daughter thinks the alcove is "hers" she refused to let me put up the one fixture I had gotten for it, saying it was too ugly for "her" space in the home. I showed her this one online and she said she thought she'd like it but she'd have to see it in person (she's seriously picky about everything). It arrived, I opened the box, she said she thought she'd like it but she had to see it put up first. So I had to get my husband to agree that if he put it up in that area and she didn't like it, he'd take it down and put it in the hall that leads to the northwest wing of the house. First he looked at me like I was nuts. Then he agreed (after my daughter threw somewhat of a fit, explaining to him that if it didn't look good all of her friends would see it when they went to her room and from the main area of the house). I guess he didn't want to argue with two females. The good news is my husband only had to install it once. Once it was up (and she stared at it for about 15 minutes from both inside and outside of her room) she declared she loved it. It goes well with the brass hardware in our home, has a unique modern look, and offers plenty of light. With that being said, it's a good thing my husband didn't have to take it down and put it up in another area of the home since he said installation was a bit of a pain. I asked him if it was difficult enough to take off a star and he said no, just that it wasn't the easiest light fixture he's put in (and he's done a ton of them between our home and our rental properties). Very unique fixture, tons of light (which is great since it highlights and lights up the alcove). Definitely recommend if you're looking for a well-made, attractive, stylish lighting fixture for your home.
